Thank you to everyone who read our blog in 2020. It grew tremendously from 2019 and we couldn’t have done it without the amazing support from fellow bloggers, readers and writers. We hope to continue to grow in 2021 and someday self-host and monetize.

Then and Now: Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

Ruby Red is the first installment in the three-book Ruby Red series by German author, Kerstin Gier. The series was such a success in Germany that it was immediately translated to English, becoming an international hit in the mid-2000’s. Fun fact: there was also a German movie adaption! We’ve been meaning to get our hands on it (with English dubbing or subtitles). If you’ve read the series or seen the movie, let us know down below. 

Claire first read the series in high school circa 2013 and Christy read them around then too! We were immediately intrigued by the time travel concept. The series follows British teen, Gwyneth, who (unexpectedly) has the gene for time travel.

Around the World with YA

Want to travel the world? Us too! Unfortunately, we don’t always have the time or money. Reading can be the best escape to travel to far away lands. To help inspire your wanderlust, we came up with a list of YA books set in countries around the world. Did we miss any countries that you can think of a YA book for? McManus emerged in 2017 as the Queen of Mysteries. Plus, she’s super nice IRL! One of Us is Lying has a twist ending that will surprise the most well-read YA lovers. The companion novel to this book, One of Us is Next, will be released January 2020.
